About
In this special Ramadan intensive, we will cover the Hanafi work by the Ottoman scholar, Shaykh al-Haram Sinan al-Din Yusuf b. ʿAbdullah al-Amasi (d. 1000 AH), titled Tabyin al-Maharim ("An Exposition of the Prohibitions"). The author meticulously discusses the prohibitions of the Qur'an, in chronological order, and also fills the various sections with beautiful, additional points from the books of fiqh, usul, tafsir, and elsewhere. This seminal text covering the major sins and prohibitions according to the Hanafi school is rare, and it is necessary reading for those serious about understanding the dictates of servanthood and upholding the sanctity of the noble shariʿa.
In this course, we cover the major prohibitions of the Qur'an. The text shall be explained in the class, and registered students will be able to access a digital version of the course text, recordings, and links to the Telegram group and discussion/question forum. We have reached #56 in the listing.
